Charlotte Continence Center
As Director of the Charlotte Continence Center, Dr. Michael Kennelly provides expertise in urinary incontinence, bladder dysfunction, and urodynamics (a series of diagnostic tests that evaluate the function of the bladder and urethra). The Charlotte Continence Center provides comprehensive urological services to Charlotte and the surrounding community, offering five convenient locations and a mobile unit. Staffed by highly trained nurses and physicians, the Charlotte Continence Center provides patients with urodynamic studies and/or bladder training and biofeedback.

Physicians can refer patients to the nearest location for testing, and referring physicians have several options for interpreting the results:

  • Referring physician can interpret test results
  • A colleague with particular expertise can interpret test results
  • Dr. Kennelly is available to interpret test results
In addition, patients without a physician's referral can be seen by one of the Urology Nurses for assessment and assistance with urinary incontinence. As such, the Charlotte Continence Center gives patients convenient access to the latest diagnostic equipment and technical expertise, while providing referring physicians with control over the testing process, access to highly specialized nurses, and quick turnaround time.

Educational Resources
Patient education is one of the cornerstones of Dr. Kennelly's practice. Accordingly, the Charlotte Continence Center publishes Continence Care, a monthly newsletter that features various types of urinary incontinence problems and their treatment options. As another educational resource, Dr. Kennelly also recommends the Urology Channel website. At the site, patients can explore numerous topics on incontinence. The Charlotte Continence Center web site also provides a wealth of relevant information on the subject of incontinence.
