Advanced procedures are available including endovascular treatment of aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and carotid occlusive disease.

The Brain Tumor Program - The Brain Tumor Program is a coordinated effort between one of the largest healthcare systems in the Southeast and the largest neurosurgery practice in the region. Carolinas HealthCare System and Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates provide comprehensive medical care for adult and pediatric patients with primary benign tumors, malignant tumors or brain metastasis from another part of the body. We are located within Carolinas Medical Center, the only hospital in this region to offer stereotactic radiosurgery. This innovative technology allows our stereotactic team to treat localized lesions previously considered inoperable. Through the use of CT scans, angiography, MRI, specialized radiation delivery systems, and three-dimensional computer modeling, areas of abnormal tissue can be precisely mapped and treated by finely defined radiation beams.

Carolinas Epilepsy Center - This center has the most comprehensive, on-site services for diagnosing and treating epilepsy in the region. Our on-site specialty procedures include MRI, PET, SPECT and CT scans; WADA testing; intracranial electrode monitoring; brain mapping; and frameless and frame-based stereotactic surgical techniques.
