In our specialized laboratory, cardiac catheterization allows the cardiologist to see an outline of the coronary arteries and more precisely determine the extent of blockages in these vessels. Our Cardiac Rehabiliation Department focuses on healing hearts and promoting healthy lifestyles.

A registered nurse case manager works directly with the patient's physician to provide an environment that enables the patient, family or significant other's quality of life, sense of self-worth and ability to maintain health and well-being.

Diabetes Education and Support
The Diabetes Education Program helps patients with newly diagnosed diabetes learn how to manage their blood sugar. It also offers assistance to patients having difficulty managing the disease. VH's certified diabetes educator conducts several classes at the hospital including patient education classes and a Diabetes Support Group. The Diabetes Support Group meets monthly to discuss the importance of diet, exercise, weight control and stress management for maintaining good blood sugar levels. All support group sessions are free and open to the public.

At VH, a specially trained team of surgical and anesthesia professionals perform a full range of surgical services in well-equipped surgical suites. For eligible patients, the hospital offers laparoscopic surgery, a technique that allows patients to recover faster and with less pain.
