The Maternity Center at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte is a leader in neonatal care and expertise. Recently recognized by J.D. Power and Associates Distinguished Hospitals Program for providing Excellence in Maternity Services.  This designation acknowledges our commitment to providing an outstanding patient experience. 

Our doctors and staff have the privilege of delivering nearly 7,000 babies a year, nearly twice as many as any other hospital in the region. We take the experience of childbirth seriously by making sure that mothers who have been induced or are in their second stage of labor have a one-to-one nurse-to-patient ratio. Our Maternity Center includes 12 recently renovated private labor/delivery/recovery (LDR) suites designed to make mother, baby and family feel at home. Each suite includes a rocking chair, large private bath, CD, DVD/VCR player and a place for a guest to stay overnight.

Behind the comfortable furnishings of the birthing suite is a spectacular array of medical and technological assets that only an academic medical center like Carolinas Medical Center can provide.

In fact, Carolinas Medical Center is the Regional Perinatal Center, with the largest neonatal intensive care nursery in the Carolinas, as well as the only ECMO (heart/lung respiratory assistance) system in the region. Carolinas Medical Center provides 24-hour neonatologist, perinatologist and anesthesiologist care as well as around the clock availability of every kind of specialist imaginable.
 
The Web Baby Nursery provides family and friends a convenient way to see the newest addition to their family even if they are miles away.
